The 14th National Conference on Boiler & Steam Systems “STEAMTECH 2023” was organised by SAKET PROJECTS LTD. on 15th July 2023 at JB Auditorium, Ahmedabad Management Association, Ahmedabad with the theme “Indian Boiler Story – Future Trends, Market and Technology”.
After a formal welcome by Conference Convenor Shri Dharmendra Joshi, in the Keynote Address, Shri Mehul Vaidya, Management Team Member, Forbes Marshall Ltd, remarked that with the continually growing Indian economy, we are actually globally expanding our reach and competing with the best in the world and setting the standards and leading the world. He highlighted a corelation to the number of Boilers being sold in the Indian market being directly proportional to the manufacturing growth of Indian economy.
Shri B H Patel, Director, Director of Boilers, Ahmedabad, highlighted the role and services of the Directorate of Boilers, Govt. of Gujarat, specifically mentioning safety aspects to be considered while operating a Boiler in a factory. He observed that with use of new technology, although we are able to build large and more efficient boilers with respect to productivity, the necessary training and upskilling of Boiler operators and Boiler Professionals should become a priority.
Guest of Honour Dr. Jaynarayan Vyas, Eminent Economist & Thinker, Ahmedabad reminded everyone about India’s vision to become a five trillion dollar economy. He said that to make it a reality the industry should be expanding by almost 30 percent and it will need energy. He highlighted the immense growth potential of the Steam & Boiler industry remarking that Stem still remains to be a direct source of energy that the industry needs. However, he cautioned that a practice to make optimum use of energy and efficient use of energy needs to be established.
The conference was inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dias. Summing up and formal Vote of Thanks was done by Shri Rohinton Engineer, Director, Industrial Boilers Ltd., Vapi.
The Awards Ceremony became the most exciting part of the Inaugural Session.
There were three Technical Sessions on various themes aligned to the Conference theme, wherein more than 10 expert speakers delivered speeches and presentations. The Panel Discussion became very interesting with a lot of interaction between the participants and experts with true case scenarios and problems faced and the speakers providing first hand solution recommendations based on their wealth of experience. The event was a grand success with over 300 delegates from industry from all over Gujarat and India, all from the small, medium and large scale industries, government departments, research professionals, regulators and academic institution representatives.
STEAMTECH’ conference was very successful from all the aspects.
